Privacy Policy
Granular is local-first. Your projects, files, and conversations live on your Mac — not on our servers.
Who we are
Granular ("we", "us") is a macOS application that lets you run AI agents in real terminals on your own computer. You can reach us at hello@buildwithomar.com.
What stays on your device
By design, the following never leaves your Mac unless you explicitly send it somewhere:
- Your project files, folders, and anything agents create or edit.
- Your chat history and session activity.
- Your API keys and secrets, which are stored encrypted in the local Vault using macOS secure storage.
What we do process
- AI requests. When you use AI features, your prompts and the relevant context are sent to your chosen AI provider (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI) or routed through our entitlement service to that provider, solely to generate a response. We do not use your content to train models.
- Licensing & entitlements. To verify a paid plan, we process a device identifier and a signed receipt so your unlock works on your device.
- Payments. Purchases are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; Stripe processes them under its own privacy terms.
- Website analytics & referrals. Our website may set cookies (e.g. via Dub) to measure visits and attribute referrals. These do not access anything inside the app.
- Support email. If you email us, we keep that correspondence to help you.
Third parties we rely on
We share the minimum necessary with service providers who act on our behalf: AI providers (to answer your prompts), Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting & entitlement service), and Dub (referral attribution). Each handles data under its own terms.
Data retention
On-device data lives until you delete it or uninstall the app. Entitlement and payment records are kept as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal/accounting obligations.
Your choices
- Delete local data anytime by removing projects or uninstalling the app.
- Request access to or deletion of records we hold about you by emailing hello@buildwithomar.com.
- Manage or cancel your subscription through your billing settings.
Children
Granular is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; we'll change the date above and, for material changes, give notice where appropriate.
