This computer connectors
Use the connectors and MCP servers you already set up in Claude, Claude Code, Codex or Gemini. Granular finds them, and you choose which chats get them.
Updated 2026-10-20
This computer shows connections Granular finds in your other AI tools, including Claude, Codex and Gemini. Granular does not create these connections; you manage their sign-in and setup in the tool they came from.
Before you start
Set up the connection in its original AI tool first. A connector lets an AI use an outside app; an MCP server is a program or service that supplies those tools.
For connections from your Claude account, use a Claude chat signed in with that account. Choosing a Claude model through an API key, a custom provider or Granular Hosted does not bring your Claude account's connectors into the chat.
See Connect an AI model if you still need to connect your AI account.
Find your connections
- Open Settings.
- Open Connectors.
- Select This computer.
- Open a connector to see its status and controls.
The tab includes:
- Connectors linked to your Claude account.
- MCP servers set up through Claude Code, Claude's terminal app.
- Apps linked in ChatGPT that Codex can use.
- MCP servers set up through Codex.
- Gemini servers and extensions. An extension adds capabilities to Gemini and may include connectors.
Which model can use each connection?
| Connection | Works directly in | Can Bridge make it available to Codex or Gemini? |
|---|---|---|
| Claude account connector | Claude chats using a Claude account sign-in | Yes |
| Claude Code server | Claude chats | Yes |
| ChatGPT account app | Codex chats | No |
| Codex server | Codex chats | No |
| Gemini server or extension | Gemini chats | No |
| Claude in Chrome | Claude chats using a Claude account sign-in | No |
Bridge to every model lets Codex or Gemini ask your Claude to use an eligible connector and return the answer.
What you'll see
Some connections appear before others. While Granular is checking, the tab can show Still checking your Claude connectors… and the list can say Checking your Claude connectors… more will appear here in a few seconds. Give it time before treating an empty list as a missing connection.
Open a connector to see its status:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Connected | The connection is listed as available. For a Claude Code server, this confirms Granular found its setup, not that every call will succeed. |
| Needs sign-in in Claude | Reconnect the app in your Claude account's connector settings. |
| Needs attention in ChatGPT | The app may be switched off or need reconnecting in ChatGPT. |
| On in Codex chats | The Codex server is enabled for use in Codex chats. |
| Off in your Codex settings | The server is disabled in Codex itself. Granular's switch cannot override that. |
| On in Gemini chats | Granular found the Gemini server or extension and its switch is on. This is not a live connection test. |
| Off for Codex or Off for Gemini | You have switched this connection off in Granular. |
If a Claude connector shows an email address, that is the Claude login that brings the connector. It is not confirmation of the Gmail, Drive or other app account behind it. See Connector accounts.
Change or turn off a connection
Use On for Claude, On for Codex or On for Gemini in the connector's details. These switches start on for discovered connections.
The tick in any chat's Connectors menu is the same switch. Changing it applies across your chats, not just the conversation you clicked in. It does not remove the connection from Claude, Codex or Gemini.
Start a new Codex conversation after changing a Codex switch. An existing conversation can keep its earlier connections. For Gemini connections, also start a new conversation to use the changed setup.
Change its setup or sign-in
| Connection | Where to fix, change or remove it |
|---|---|
| Claude account connector | On claude.ai, open Settings → Connectors. Use the Claude account shown in Granular. |
| ChatGPT account app | In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps. |
| Claude Code server | In your session's Terminal tab, type claude mcp and press Enter. |
| Codex server | In your session's Terminal tab, type codex mcp and press Enter. |
| Gemini server | In your session's Terminal tab, type gemini mcp and press Enter. |
| Gemini extension | In your session's Terminal tab, type gemini extensions and press Enter. |
The Terminal tab is where you type commands directly. Each command above opens that tool's connector or extension help, showing the options for managing it.
After making changes, reopen This computer. Claude and Codex lists can take up to about five minutes to refresh. Start a new Codex conversation after changing its apps or servers.
Claude in Chrome
Claude in Chrome lets Claude use Anthropic's extension to open pages, click, type and fill forms in your own signed-in Chrome browser.
Follow the four setup steps shown in its details:
- Install Anthropic's Claude extension in Google Chrome using the Chrome Web Store link.
- Sign in to Claude in the extension with the same Claude account this computer's Claude uses.
- Pair it once: in your session's Terminal tab, type
claudeand press Enter, then type/chromeand follow the instructions. - Choose a Claude model in a chat using your Claude account sign-in.
After setup, turn on Enabled in the saved Claude in Chrome connector's details. It starts off. Its switch applies across your Claude chats, and Chrome also asks permission before Claude acts on a site.
Claude in Chrome needs a Claude sign-in. It does not work through an API key, a custom provider or Granular Hosted.
It cannot be bridged to Codex or Gemini because it controls your real browser, where even a click or typed text can change something. There is no safe read-only version of that access for Bridge.
Limits
- Claude account connectors work directly only in Claude sessions using a Claude account sign-in. Codex and Gemini need Bridge.
- If two Claude accounts have the same connector, such as Gmail, they currently share one set of switches. You cannot turn that connector on for one Claude account and off for the other independently.
- The tab does not list every connection another AI tool might load. For example, Gemini servers configured only for one project are not included.
- A listed connection can still fail if its sign-in has expired or its service is unavailable.
- A Claude login email does not identify the account signed in to the connected app.
Troubleshooting
If you see Still checking your Claude connectors…
Wait for the check to finish. Some account connections take longer to appear than locally configured servers. If a connection is still missing, check it in the original AI tool, then reopen This computer.
If you see Needs sign-in in Claude
Open claude.ai → Settings → Connectors for the Claude account shown, and reconnect the app. Then reopen This computer after allowing time for the list to refresh.
If you see Needs attention in ChatGPT
Open ChatGPT → Settings → Apps. Check that the app is enabled and signed in, then start a new Codex conversation.
If you see Off in your Codex settings
Manage the server through codex mcp in your session's Terminal tab. Enable it in Codex, then check On for Codex in Granular and start a new conversation.
If you see Connected but the connector does not work
Check that you are using a compatible model from the table above and that the connector's switch is on. For Claude account connectors, also check that the chat uses your Claude sign-in. If those are correct, check the connection in its original AI tool.
If you see a connector in Settings but not in chat
The chat menu hides connections that cannot work with its current model or sign-in. Choose the matching AI connection, or use Bridge for an eligible Claude connector. See Connectors in chat.
