What's new in 0.6.0

In short

Granular 0.6.0 adds the Preview canvas, comments on pages, five new coding agents, OpenRouter sign-in, local models, Settings → AI accounts and model pins, plus fixes for Windows and workers.

Updated 2026-10-20

Granular 0.6.0 came out on 19 October 2026 for Mac and Windows. The headline is the Preview canvas: every page and design you're working on, side by side on one board. It also adds comments you can pin on a page, five more coding agents you can plug in, new ways to bring your own AI, and one place to manage all your AI accounts.

To get it, click Update when Granular tells you a new version is ready.

The Preview canvas

See every Preview tab as a frame on one board you can pan and zoom. Check a page at Desktop, Tablet and Phone size side by side, save a picture of any frame, duplicate a page at another size, and drop in images, videos, PDFs and HTML from any folder the chat can see.

Try it: open Preview, then click the frame icon at the right of the tab strip (Show all tabs on a canvas). See The Preview canvas.

Point your agent at a page

Ask about this puts a page into the chat's message box, so you can ask the agent about it without pasting an address or a path. It's on every frame on the canvas and in every Preview tab's menu.

Comments on pages

Click anywhere on a page in Preview to pin a note on it, then send every open note to the chat in one go, each with a screenshot of the spot. It works on the canvas too.

Try it: open Preview, click the Comments button in the toolbar (or press C) and click the page. See Preview comments.

Five new coding agents

Plug in OpenCode, Pi, Cursor, Grok or GitHub Copilot as the engine behind a chat. Granular installs each one for you if it's missing, signs you in, and keeps every command it runs in your visible terminal. GitHub Copilot works on the free Copilot plan.

OpenCode and Pi can use an OpenRouter sign-in or provider key you've already added in Granular, with nothing more to set up.

Try it: open the account button under the message box, then Add your AI agent, and look under Coding agents. See Connect OpenCode, Connect Pi, Connect Cursor, Connect Grok and Use GitHub Copilot.

More ways to bring your own AI

  • Sign in with OpenRouter: one browser sign-in gives you hundreds of models, with no key to paste. See Sign in with OpenRouter.
  • Provider keys: pick DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM, xAI, Groq, Mistral and others from a list, paste your key, and Granular fills in the models. See Connect other AI providers.
  • Local models: if Ollama or LM Studio is running, Granular finds it and offers its models with one click. See Local models (Ollama, LM Studio).
  • More Gemini models: a Gemini API key now offers Gemini 4 Argon, Gemini 3.8 Flash, Gemini 3.6 Flash, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite, Gemini 3 Flash, Gemma 4 31B and Gemma 4 26B, as well as Pro (latest), Flash (latest) and Flash-Lite (latest). See Connect Gemini.

The Add your AI agent menu is now in three sections, Subscriptions, Coding agents and Keys & providers, and every row has a price tag (such as Free, Plan or Pay as you go) you can point at for the details.

The first-run setup has the same choices: three starter cards (free credits, Claude, and ChatGPT (Codex)) and More ways to connect… for everything else.

Settings → AI accounts

One page for every AI account Granular can use: how it connects, what it costs, whether it works, and the buttons to check it, sign in again, set it as a project's default, hide it or remove it.

Try it: open Settings, then AI accounts. See Manage your AI accounts.

Find and pin models

Search the model button under the message box and it also looks through your other accounts. Pin the models you use most with the pin icon or Cmd+D (Ctrl+D on Windows) and they stay at the top. The AI Add-on's list is grouped by maker, with older versions folded under Previous generation. See Pick and pin models and Granular Hosted models.

Codex

New Granular chats on Codex no longer show up in the Codex app's own history. The note under each Codex reply now names the model that really answered. See Connect Codex.

Workers

  • When you switch a boss to another account, Granular offers to move its workers too.
  • Dismissing a worker moves its copy to the Trash (Recycle Bin on Windows), never a permanent delete, and only ever its own copy.
  • Workers can use your project's connectors, the same as a normal chat.

See Boss and worker agents.

Terminal

The Terminal tool has a Grid view to see several terminals at once, a Start agent button, and you can rename the extra tabs. See Terminal.

Fixes

  • Windows: PowerShell terminals open reliably; Codex sign-in and other agents work when your Windows user folder has a space in its name; Claude stays signed in after a restart; agents stop cleanly; the canvas, Preview and comments handle C:\ paths. See Windows beta.
  • AI Add-on: Claude Haiku now works in chats with many connected apps.
  • Context meter: on long GPT-5.5 and Claude chats, the meter no longer climbs a little more every turn.
  • Token-saving proxies such as Headroom no longer interfere with the AI Add-on or custom providers.
  • Hidden thinking: models such as MiniMax and DeepSeek no longer show their raw thinking text in replies.
  • Privacy: Granular's own instructions are no longer saved into Claude Code's shared memory, so they don't show up in the Claude app.
  • Codex model list: a Codex account's model button now lists Codex's models, not Claude's.
  • Layout: the floating chat panel always fits the window, and numbered lists keep their code blocks inside.
